Training The Right Way
Welcome to MarioZ Training Plug-In v1. This major revision improves the training plug in experience. Since training and power infor have become so intertwined, there is now one plugin that incorporates all aspects of the former Power Info and Power Import plugins. As always, please post your questions on the SportTracks Forum. Note that the Training Plug In series requires Microsoft .NET 3.5. You can download this from Microsoft.
Mario Zucca has developed the training plug in to integrate with SportTracks. If you're looking for a complete training program you need to try this. Please post your questions on the SportTracks Forum. Be sure to back up your SportTracks database before diving in.
Also available now are some exercise modules that can be added in. Just unzip these into the "\Plugins\Training" directory. Please note that some of these are quite large and very well illustrated. Just click on the module you want in the table below. Please post all your questions and comments on the SportTracks Forum.
Even if you don't own a power meter, the Training Planner still allows you to plan your season. In fact there are SportTracks plug-ins that will do a reasonably good job of estimating your power output based on ride data.
Power Merge
Tightly integrated into the plugin, the Power Merge tool directly imports both Powertap and iBike data files. The analysis of data works very well for training sessions, intervals, critical power tests, etc. It is recommended that activities such as these be recorded at one second interval for both the iBike and the Garmin. Note that file size can increase substantially with longer rides recorded at one second intervals.
Power Info
Also tightly integrated into the training plug in, the Power Info module analyzes your data and provides excellent charts. CP5s through CP60m is located. Average power, Max Power, Normalized Power "NP", Training Stress Score "TSS" , Intensity Factor "IF" and Calories burned "Work" are all calculated.
Training Plan
The heart of the Training Plan allows setting up an entire season with main events and differing levels of training intensity. Exercises, rides, interval training can be planned in order to have you peak at the right time of the year. A Personal Management Chart tracks CTL, ATL and TSB. These can be difficult to manage with many complicated calculations but the Training Plan Charting lays it all out in an easy to understand way. You can create reports for specific SportTracks categoreis, and even print plans.
