What's New
Training The Right Way
Wow! Just like that, the Training Plug In got popular enough to get its own page. Click here to go the Power page.
If you've been thinking of a power meter, now is the time. The 3rd Generation iBike made its debut on November 10, 2008.
There are three versions that will satisfy most everyone. The iSport is perfect for the casual rider interested in staying healthy. This unit actually guides you through an exercise process and helps you set goals.
The iPro has the serious cyclist in mind. It's offered in both wired and wireless units. You can download and analyze all your data and even have it setup for switching between bikes on the fly.
The iAero is the most sophisticated model. It is completely wireless and can be paired with a more conventional power meter such as a Quarq, In this configuration, racers will have live data to help them determine their most efficient riding position.
Do you need help getting your iBike dialed in? If you live in the Southern California area, just drop me an email. Depending on your needs various programs are available, from getting you setup for the first time, to fine tuning your ride profiles.
The result? You'll be using "POWER" as your barometer. Power output is not affected by the same variables that affect your heart rate.
So if you're wondering why your results don't seem to reflect your efforts, it's time to take a look at how you ride.

Workouts
After trying a number or workouts, I'll post a few of them here over the next few weeks. These workouts can be uploaded to your Edge 705 using SportTracks along with the the Garmin Fitness Plugin. The plugin is available here.
The first workout is a session designed to improve your pedaling technique. It starts with a warmup then goes into an increasing cadence interval. Following is a one leg drill session and finished off by another very high spin cadence session. Finally cool down for a couple of minutes. Because of space limitations the warmup and cooldown are not part of the interval but they are very important.
This is an entirely new area for many SportTracks users, so if you need help just drop me an email.
Upcoming Rides
Rides posted below are for personal use only and may not be sold or distributed. I am not responsible for any changes, omissions or errors. Ride carefully and always pay lookout for any last minute changes. These rides can be loaded into Garmin Training Center for transfer to the Edge 205/305 series and also be directly saved to the the newer Edge 605/705 cycling computers.
This page had thousands of downloads as many riders took advantage of available routes for many centuries and metric centuries.
I am already planning for 2009 and hope to expand ride availability.
